Advantages to Getting Laser Hair Removal

Posted by Kenny On December - 23 - 2010

Laser hair removal is becoming very popular with our society and has many advantages over other options available.  In the past laser hair removal price has scared off middle class Americans.  Now with more medical spas and cosmetic procedure offices competing with each other, there is more pricing competition. Laser facial hair removal, leg hair removal, and underarm hair removal are becoming more and more appealing to people's budgets.

The medical spas are making themselves more accessible and affordable for people of modest means.  Their prices are usually stated on their web sites to make it easier to find one that is affordable or may be offering specials every month.

Other options for removing unwanted hair are shaving, tweezing, waxing, electrolysis,  or using various creams.  Most of these options are temporary, time consuming, dangerous, or painful.  In comparison to these options using a laser to remove hair is safe as long as it is performed by a highly trained technician at a reputable office.

If laser is correctly conducted, the hair is killed while leaving the surrounding skin tissue alone.  The laser treatment session will only last six to ten minutes.  The area will feel like it’s being snapped by a rubber band.  The skin will likely be red and irritated looking but these characteristics  fade quickly.  In some cases, patients claim their hair never grows in again.  Other patients may require infrequent maintenance with another visit to the medical spa. Even when hair does grow back it is usually thinner and lighter in color.

Laser removal is a much more practical method for removing hair from a large area.  Men often seek out laser hair removal for removing an over abundance of chest or back hair.  Trying to keep up with thick hair covering that large an area with other techniques such as shaving would be a difficult task at best.  Although a few appointments will likely be necessary at the laser office, in the long run you’ll be quite satisfied with the resulting benefits.

In many areas laser hair removal has the advantages over other methods.

Laser Hair Removal Cost Comparison

Posted by Kenny On November - 20 - 2010

Laser hair removal is becoming more and more popular. It wasnt to long ago that we only had shaving and waxing. Laser hair removal cost is being asked more and more because of its higher acceptance.

Pricing differs some from state to state and is hard to give an exact figure on. The only way to get a hard number is to go in for a conulstation and discuss the laser hair removal cost specific for your goals.

Some clinics specialize in laser hair removal while others have it as a side treatment for patients. As such the costs vary based on that, the geographic area, the areas being done, and the how unique you are specifically.

Another factor in laser hair removal prices is how the clinic charges. Is it going to be a flat rate, by the density of the hair, time taken per treatment, or the number of pulses required?

The good thing about laser hair removal is that it is a long term treatment and should be viewed as an investment. You will have somewhere around 6-8 treatments the first year after which it ill be permanent hair removal.

If you compare the laser hair removal cost with other like electolysis, shaving, and waxing it is far cheaper. Even were the up front cost more expensive with the time you no longer have to spend shaving it is much less costly.

Again with all the areas that you can choose to get hair removed, the number of treatments needed, your area, and how payment is done costs can be a few hundred to several thousand dollars.

With all that in mind take a look around your area and see what offers the clinics are giving and then make some appointments to talk about specifics. Or just go in to all of them and shop around.

Ways to Remove Body Hair

Posted by Kenny On November - 7 - 2010

When it comes to body hairs, a lot of women will agree that they rather get rid of them. Not surprisingly, there are many methods and techniques to that end. However, they differ a lot in price levels, the amount of pain that comes with the technique, the effectiveness in terms of actually removing all hairs, and the effectiveness in terms of lasting effects. Also, the amount of time that the procedure costs can differ quite a bit. If you are looking for a quick but temporary solution, you could just shave it in a few minutes. However, each technique has its own pro's and cons. What follows is a discussion of the several techniques available to the modern woman.

Using a razor blade to remove hairs will cut the hairs at the skin level. Therefore, they are not removed completely, and will regrow quite fast. After a while, you will develop stubble, especially when you have thicker hair, and the hairs will grow back quicker as well. This makes shaving a method of hair removal that should be practiced on a daily basis, for example while taking a shower. Shaving with razors is not suitable for facial hair removal for women, as it will have the same effect on your skin as it had on the cheeks of your dad.

Benefits of waxing include complete removal of hairs, which gives it a long term effect. Downsides are that it takes quite a bit of preparation time, it is quite painful in the beginning (luckily the method becomes less painful over time, since the hairs do not grow back as firmly anymore), and it could be expensive when you have it done in a beauty salon, which is advisable for beginners to get the method down yourself.

The last technique to discuss is laser hair removal. This technique will damage your hair follicles indefinitely, giving you permanent hair free skin. Some companies offer home laser hair removal, so you don't need to go out to get your session done. This method is quite expensive, with a couple of hundred dollars per session (which only covers a small area). However, since it is permanent is might be more attractive than spending smaller amounts on products every month.

Laser Hair Removal and Some Other Procedures

Posted by Kenny On November - 3 - 2010

As a woman, I have always hated having unwanted hair on my body. Let alone those tedious procedures of facial hair removal. That’s why I go the extra mile to look for ways on how I can get rid of it. One traditional way of doing this is through epilating. I used tweezers to remove unwanted hair from my eyebrows and underarms. However, I have found out that it is quite painful and it takes a lot of time to do. Then the electric epilators were invented. These are still very painful to use but since they can remove a number of hair at once, they make the process faster.

Hair can also be removed through threading. This procedure uses a thread that is held between the fingers in the form of a loop. This is still very painful though. The newest technology in the hair removal industry is through laser hair removal. Some of the most revered clinics are laser hair removal Cork, laser hair removal dublin and laser hair removal Belfast. This procedure is still painful, just like any other way of removing hair from the body. But this is more convenient as it permanently get rids of the unwanted hair that I so much despise.

Another good thing about this process is that there are ways to reduce the pain. For example, the technician can apply some numbing cream on the area. That’s why I make it a point to consult my technician before I even get myself involved in any treatment. It’s always helpful to know what the procedure is for and why it is needed. Even the most basic knowledge will make it easier for us to undergo the process of laser hair removal. I also asked to have a patch testing to make sure that my skin doesn’t have any reaction to it. And let me assure you how effective the numbing cream is. I felt like I was being tickled.

Laser Hair Removal For Dark Skin

Posted by Kenny On August - 21 - 2010

Traditionally people with dark skin have always problems with laser hair removal.  If you've spent any time reading about laser hair removal, you've probably heard horror stories about people with dark skin getting severe burns from laser hair removal treatments.  This is because of the way the laser light is absorbed by dark skinned individuals.  Whether you are using lasers for facial hair removal or body hair removal, they all work the same way.

Laser hair removal works because the hair follicle which is responsible for hair growth usually contains melanin.  This is a substance that is responsible for hair pigmentation and skin pigmentation.  Light substances typically reflect light and dark substances typically absorb light.  Laser hair removal works best with people who have very light colored skin and dark, course hair.  This ensures that the laser light is not absorbed by the skin which can cause burns.  The heat from the laser light is only absorbed at the hair follicle because there is darker melanin in it.

With people who have dark skin like African Americans, the laser light is absorbed by the skin as well as the hair follicle and severe burns may result if the incorrect laser is used.  They have lasers specifically designed for laser hair removal on dark skinned individuals.  You should consult with your laser hair removal specialists as to whether or not your particular skin tone is a good candidate for laser hair removal.  Some African American people have lighter skin pigmentation than others.  If you are African American and have very dark and almost black skin, you're probably a poor candidate for this procedure.

If you are African American and are considering having laser hair removal done make sure that you go to someone who has done laser hair removal on dark skinned individuals before.  If you go to someone who is inexperienced and they use the wrong laser you stand a good chance of suffering from severe burns.  Laser hair removal prices can be high.  Be sure and go to the most experienced person in your area.
