How to Remove Female Facial Hair

Posted by Kenny On November - 30 - 2010

Usually women are much less hairy than men. However, there are instances that some women have more facial hair than other women do and those who have it suffer from shame and emotional stress due to taunting and peer pressure given the unnatural attribute and ugly notion of women having excess facial hair.

Female facial hair is more visible above the upper lip and some on the cheeks. Others are dubbed also as unibrow, in which both eyebrows meet in the middle. Razors and tweezers are usually the friendliest and the most affordable ways in taking out that female facial hair however, both methods hurt and are only temporary solutions. Hence, there are natural methods for facial hair removal that do not only take out the hair but also leave the skin smooth and moisturized. One of these methods is the use of spearmint tea if the cause of the facial hair is abnormal increase of testosterone of woman. Drinking one to two cups of spearmint tea daily is known to decrease the testosterone level and hereby slowly decrease the presence of visible facial hair until it does not show at all. Another non painful method is bleaching. Bleaching does not only diminish facial hair but also makes it fragile and which makes the hair break off on its own especially when used weekly. There are a lot of bleaching creams in the market however; you have to test it first before buying to make sure your skin is not allergic to it. You can buy one with activator for facial hair. One sample of natural bleacher is lemon. Applying lemon with an equal amount of honey to the area where facial hair is visible everyday for noticeable results. Such method also gives skin a healthy glow. Going natural is as easy as 123 and friendly to the pockets, too.

Ways to Remove Body Hair

Posted by Kenny On November - 7 - 2010

When it comes to body hairs, a lot of women will agree that they rather get rid of them. Not surprisingly, there are many methods and techniques to that end. However, they differ a lot in price levels, the amount of pain that comes with the technique, the effectiveness in terms of actually removing all hairs, and the effectiveness in terms of lasting effects. Also, the amount of time that the procedure costs can differ quite a bit. If you are looking for a quick but temporary solution, you could just shave it in a few minutes. However, each technique has its own pro's and cons. What follows is a discussion of the several techniques available to the modern woman.

Using a razor blade to remove hairs will cut the hairs at the skin level. Therefore, they are not removed completely, and will regrow quite fast. After a while, you will develop stubble, especially when you have thicker hair, and the hairs will grow back quicker as well. This makes shaving a method of hair removal that should be practiced on a daily basis, for example while taking a shower. Shaving with razors is not suitable for facial hair removal for women, as it will have the same effect on your skin as it had on the cheeks of your dad.

Benefits of waxing include complete removal of hairs, which gives it a long term effect. Downsides are that it takes quite a bit of preparation time, it is quite painful in the beginning (luckily the method becomes less painful over time, since the hairs do not grow back as firmly anymore), and it could be expensive when you have it done in a beauty salon, which is advisable for beginners to get the method down yourself.

The last technique to discuss is laser hair removal. This technique will damage your hair follicles indefinitely, giving you permanent hair free skin. Some companies offer home laser hair removal, so you don't need to go out to get your session done. This method is quite expensive, with a couple of hundred dollars per session (which only covers a small area). However, since it is permanent is might be more attractive than spending smaller amounts on products every month.

Laser Hair Removal For Dark Skin

Posted by Kenny On August - 21 - 2010

Traditionally people with dark skin have always problems with laser hair removal.  If you've spent any time reading about laser hair removal, you've probably heard horror stories about people with dark skin getting severe burns from laser hair removal treatments.  This is because of the way the laser light is absorbed by dark skinned individuals.  Whether you are using lasers for facial hair removal or body hair removal, they all work the same way.

Laser hair removal works because the hair follicle which is responsible for hair growth usually contains melanin.  This is a substance that is responsible for hair pigmentation and skin pigmentation.  Light substances typically reflect light and dark substances typically absorb light.  Laser hair removal works best with people who have very light colored skin and dark, course hair.  This ensures that the laser light is not absorbed by the skin which can cause burns.  The heat from the laser light is only absorbed at the hair follicle because there is darker melanin in it.

With people who have dark skin like African Americans, the laser light is absorbed by the skin as well as the hair follicle and severe burns may result if the incorrect laser is used.  They have lasers specifically designed for laser hair removal on dark skinned individuals.  You should consult with your laser hair removal specialists as to whether or not your particular skin tone is a good candidate for laser hair removal.  Some African American people have lighter skin pigmentation than others.  If you are African American and have very dark and almost black skin, you're probably a poor candidate for this procedure.

If you are African American and are considering having laser hair removal done make sure that you go to someone who has done laser hair removal on dark skinned individuals before.  If you go to someone who is inexperienced and they use the wrong laser you stand a good chance of suffering from severe burns.  Laser hair removal prices can be high.  Be sure and go to the most experienced person in your area.
