You could either style your natural black curls into a chic bun or perhaps go for micro, cornrows or box braids to enhance your features. Here is how to get that unique look with a natural black hairdo.

Step 1: First of all you need to know your hair before you go in for any kind of styling. The texture is very important. After this, you should make sure that the style suits you. You should take care to ensure you don’t ruin your hair. Once you have done this, you have to choose a shampoo and a hair conditioner that suits the texture of your curls. You have to then shampoo and condition your hair.

Step 2: Use a towel to blot your hair and mop up excess moisture.

Step 3: Apply an anti-frizz lotion to your hair strands. After this put some mousse on the damp strands to even out the moisture from your curls.

Step 4: Untangle your hair with a broad comb. Dry your hair with a hair-dryer while at the same time running your fingers through your curls to smoothen it. Hair drying must be done gently and in small sections.

Step 5: Tie your hair tightly into a pony tail with an elastic band and tousle it with your fingers. Of course, you should twist it into a chignon bun. Gather the stray curls under the bun. Use bobby pins to hold the bun.

Step 6: Apply a lotion to gives your curls a gloss and a hairspray that would hold it well.

Step 7: You can give that unique touch to your hair by pleating it. There are quite a few styles of hair braids. Cornrow, with their amazing geometric patterns, has been in vogue for quite some time. You can also go in for micro braids, which are also known as pixie or invisible braids. If you are unsatisfied with these pleats, you could go in for the box braids, made up of larger strands, usually 3 or 4, that crisscross each other.

Step 8: While going for braids, you have to be wary of hair breakage. You have to use moisturizers and lotions to ensure that it does not break at the ends.

Step 9: You can also go for human hair extension to enhance your hairdo. But have a good look at the numerous hairstyle magazines or internet resources that are available these days. What ever the natural black hairstyle you might choose, it would be best to seek professional help if you plan to go in for more complicated braids.
