THE PROCESS OF REBONDING
The time taken for the complete rebonding process depends upon the length of your hair but it usually varies between 8 to 10 hours.
- The treatment starts with a hair wash by shampoo and then are completely dried using a hair blower.
- Hair is then divided into various strings where the cream softener is applied to all the hair strings separately. The cream softener is kept on the hair for about half an hour. Keeping it for too long may result in the hair getting damaged.
- Hair strings are them steamed for 10 to 40 minutes; that depends upon your hair type, and are then rinsed.
- Again, hair are dried using the hair blower and a keratin lotion is put in contact with the hair.
- Hair strings are now straightened using a long iron to break any left out curls. Id done correctly, it then results in straight and shiny hair.
- The strings of hair are again formed and a neutralizer is applied to stabilize the hair. The neutralizer is usually kept for 30 odd minutes on the hair strings.
- Hair strings are then washed with cold water to remove the neutralizer, followed by hair blower being blown and hair serum being applied.
- Again, long iron is used to straighten the hair and give them a final silky and shiny touch.
Rebonding process does not end up here only. The follow up actions also need to be taken so as to keep the rebonding of hair for as long as possible. It is advisable not to wash the hair for at least three following days. Further, no accessory, hair band or any clip should be put on the hair for these three days. Hair shall not come in contact with water for these days; wearing a shower cap while taking a bath is a must. The point if rebonding is harmful for hair more or less depends upon how much you care and pamper your hair after the treatment. Taking after-rebonding precautions on regular basis would allow you to have shiny straight hair for a longer period of time.
