Causes for Dandruff

Posted by saurabh.sahni280691 On December - 28 - 2010

Dandruff is a very common problem for those people who do not take proper care of their hair. Dandruff is rough dry skin that forms on and flakes off the scalp. It is more common in men than women and those who are have dry scalp. It is believed that dandruff is caused due to certain kind of fungus found in hair fossils. They are normally present on every scalp but they grow on oils and gets out of control. In this condition reproduction of skin cells become faster and these new skin cells come up to the surface. These dry pieces get noticeable and are known as dandruff. There are many other reasons which cause this problem and help dandruff continue growing.

Those people who have unhealthy food habits are more prone to this infection. Excess intake of junk and oily food becomes the food of dandruff too as they increase the oil level in your body ultimately increasing the oil present in the scalp. Intake of those products which have caffeine in them should also be avoided. Intake of tea, coffee, dark chocolates should be restricted and so shall the intake of meat, sugar and other beverages.

Fruits are always good for health but in this case citrus fruits should be avoided. Fruits like orange, lemon, lime, etc are not good for those who are suffering from severe dandruff. Banana is also a kind of taboo for them. Avoiding milk and other dairy products also becomes necessary. A balanced diet is very important. Green vegetables, grams, cereals, etc are important for healthy hair. Lots of water and fresh fruit juices are highly recommended. Fermented foods and baked products such as cheese, different kinds of breads and all kind of alcohols be it wine, rum, Champaign, etc are also the contributors of dandruff.

One of the main causes of dandruff is dirty scalp. Dirty scalp means more oil present on the scalp. Hair should be always kept clean and washed at least thrice in a day. Herbal shampoo should be used for cleansing of hair. Avoid those shampoos which have a high level of chemicals and strong artificial fragrance in them. When hair are left uncombed or tangled, chances of getting dandruff are high. Combing hair means keeping the blood circulation regular inside the scalp. Massaging with good herbal oil in a circular motion can also be beneficial.

In today’s time coloring and dying hair have become leading trend but one should not forget that chemicals always have a bad effect on hair. Hair color and hair dye are not at all for dandruff infected people. Stress is also considered a prime factor for the production of dry flakes. Avoid taking tension and don’t be stressed out. Yoga is going to prove very fruitful in stress bursting. When skin is dry dandruff tends to be formed at a higher speed so keep your hair well oiled and this will also strengthen your hair roots.

Hair Trends!

Posted by saurabh.sahni280691 On December - 28 - 2010

What is the reason that makes hair more special than other parts of our body? Why there are hustling and bustling going on changing hair trends? Why hair care is a huge industry today? Why there are no other industries like hand care or lips care? Because you have the full authority over your hair, you can change its color, shape, size, texture and almost everything about it which is not so easy and sometimes impossible to do with the other limbs. So there are reasons enough for hair to take the lime light. Hair gives you the opportunity to practice your authority over it; you can do whatever you want with it, and there are a whole lot of people to help you with it.

Hair trends are changing and the change is not confined to the rich and fashionable only. Everyone is experimenting with their hair. They are going blond, brunette, redhead, honey colored, black and then again blond and they are still planning on something new. They are chopping hair, and then growing it again. Previously we used to admire the long black or honey colored locks of supermodels and heroines, now we are appreciating bobs too. It has been noticed that whenever a Hollywood mainstream actress has gone through a break up they have accepted a shorter, fringier bob to show that that they have shed off all the unwanted from their life and now they are good to go. Anne Hathaway, Halle Berry had chopped off extra lengths after their break up. Talking about bobs how can anyone stop herself from trying it after seeing Frankie and Halle Berry in their shorter smarter do.  Another rising trend in fashion world is bangs. It suits almost everyone because it created a nice frame around your face and highlights it tremendously. There are variations of bangs too, there are light bangs, full bang, one sided bang, two sided bang, heavy bang and many more. You can choose one according to your face cut (and there is one for every type of face!) and get it done. I guess you have noticed Julia Roberts and Taylor Swifts recent hair styles with suitable bangs. Coloring the hair has been a trend for years but going redheads is something very bold to try. Everyone thinks about their complexion thousand times before dying their hair. The color red on hair apprehends a hell out of most of the girls. But notice Cheryl Chole and Rehanna’s new hair Color. What do we find? The same red color on different complexion working wonders. I guess quite inspiring for those who need a little bit of inspiration for getting really bold. Straightening hair created such an outrageous trend that it made the new invention straight iron a household product. Almost every fashion forward girl have tucked their hair once in the straight iron as if blow dry alone was not enough to make their hair board straight. And when straightening once has entered then crimping and curling has also followed the path to our beloved hair.

Hair Care Rules to Swear Upon!

Posted by saurabh.sahni280691 On December - 27 - 2010

Getting shiny black locks that have smooth even curls and that come down to the ivory neck is something every girl dreams of. But then there is the harsh reality of the harsh treatment of the blow dry, shoving the locks between the unforgivable straight iron plates, burning of hair parts on the crimper, everyday fight between the tangled hair and hair brush and last but not the least a regular dose of dust and dirt. Real enough to shatter the dream brutally. The solution- swear upon some rules that will provide some nourishment and comfort from the harsh treatment so that both you and your hair can stay happy.

Winter Hair Care Tips

  • Keep your scalp and roots clean with zero traces of dandruff. If it is sticky, greasy and dirty then believe me not a single hair care regime can do any good of your hair. So wash your hair regularly and use a mild shampoo to wash it every second day. If you have dandruff then use anti- dandruff shampoo but not more than twice a week because it will make your hair dry.
  • After cleaning nourishment is a must. Take an oath of allowing your hair a deep conditioning once a week with the help of a hair mask. Condition from root to tips very well for best results.
  • Make hair trim a religious duty; keep an interval of 6-8 weeks between trimming. It ensures healthy growth of your hair without ugly split ends. Go to the same hair dresser because then he/she will be able to understand the like of your hair and will be able to treat it effectively. Put a reminder on your phone immediately after one trim session for the next one.
  • Your hair needs food too! Feed it with the proper food it needs for growing. Eat a lot of colorful vegetables, lean proteins, nuts, foods containing Omega 3 and Fatty acid. Drink a lot of water and reduce the amount of caffeine you take. It is neither good for your skin nit hair.
  • Apply a heat protective gel, serum or cream even before you pick up the hair dryer. Remember hair dryer literally dries your hair out and makes it void of moisture. UV rays can also do the same to your hair, so it is better to use mild heat- protector whenever you go out in the sun.
  • Buy high quality hair tools, let me put it like this- invest in your hair tools. Do not go for cheap prototypes which will damage your hair completely. Buy ionic hair dryer because it dries your hair in half time and causes less damage to it. But ceramic straight irons and roll irons. Do not go for the metal one which can easily burn your hair.
  • Visit the hair spa; remember spa is not for your skin only. Hair spa helps to bring life and shine in your dull and rough hair.
  • Once a week take hot oil massage, let your hair absorb all the warmth of hot oil and wash your hair with shampoo the day after.

Wedding Hairstyles

Posted by saurabh.sahni280691 On December - 27 - 2010

There are thousand things to stress about on a wedding for the bride, especially things about her looks. And hair alone takes the major part of confusion and stress. As wedding day is the most important day of a girl’s life and she wants to look the prettiest, she obviously stresses about how everything will turn out on that particular day. In addition to that she also worries about how the bride’s mates’ look, the flower girls’ look and her parents’ look will turn out. All of these give her sleepless nights and consequently a bad hair day. And discovering a dull, lifeless and greasy hair on the big day in spite of maintaining all the beauty and hair care regime strictly is nothing but a nightmare. The way to escape all the horrifying incidents is to just relax and plan everything well with time in hand. Plan everything with the help of your hair stylist. Choose your hair stylist very carefully; it is better not to change the hair stylist just before your wedding. Select a tested and trusted one who knows your hair type and knows how to deal with the problems.

Wedding Updo's

Select the hairstyle you will be doing on the big day at least 2 weeks in advance. You can try different hairstyles and then pick one so you know exactly how the particular hair do will turn out. Select the hair do which will agree with your wedding gown, veil, shoes and accessories. If the embroidery on the neckline is the most special part of your gown then do not plan a hair style that will hide the neckline. Again if you are wearing a high neck jacket then do a back bun. If your hair is short then plan exactly how you are going to set it on the special day. There are different kinds of trains so be aware that your train does not disturb your hair style. If you are to take a hair cut before your wedding, then keep an interval of 2 weeks at least. The reason is that when you get a new hair cut you feel awkward for some time and the new style takes some time to set. Plan your hair do according to the style. You can try different hair styles like braids (which is a current trend), loose buns, sleek buns, messy do, up do, ponytails and many others. If you just want to hang it loose then you can straighten it up or curl it a bit to give a nice bounce. You can also try fashion accessories but be aware of going overboard with it. At first decide the hair style then decide your accessory. Keep it sleek and simple and through it you can bring something blue in your wedding look. Give a trial with the accessory because you would not want to get wrong at the final moment. Wear a button down shirt when you seat for doing the hair do because you do not want to face difficulty getting out of it and making a mess of your hair.

Advantages to Getting Laser Hair Removal

Posted by Kenny On December - 23 - 2010

Laser hair removal is becoming very popular with our society and has many advantages over other options available.  In the past laser hair removal price has scared off middle class Americans.  Now with more medical spas and cosmetic procedure offices competing with each other, there is more pricing competition. Laser facial hair removal, leg hair removal, and underarm hair removal are becoming more and more appealing to people's budgets.

The medical spas are making themselves more accessible and affordable for people of modest means.  Their prices are usually stated on their web sites to make it easier to find one that is affordable or may be offering specials every month.

Other options for removing unwanted hair are shaving, tweezing, waxing, electrolysis,  or using various creams.  Most of these options are temporary, time consuming, dangerous, or painful.  In comparison to these options using a laser to remove hair is safe as long as it is performed by a highly trained technician at a reputable office.

If laser is correctly conducted, the hair is killed while leaving the surrounding skin tissue alone.  The laser treatment session will only last six to ten minutes.  The area will feel like it’s being snapped by a rubber band.  The skin will likely be red and irritated looking but these characteristics  fade quickly.  In some cases, patients claim their hair never grows in again.  Other patients may require infrequent maintenance with another visit to the medical spa. Even when hair does grow back it is usually thinner and lighter in color.

Laser removal is a much more practical method for removing hair from a large area.  Men often seek out laser hair removal for removing an over abundance of chest or back hair.  Trying to keep up with thick hair covering that large an area with other techniques such as shaving would be a difficult task at best.  Although a few appointments will likely be necessary at the laser office, in the long run you’ll be quite satisfied with the resulting benefits.

In many areas laser hair removal has the advantages over other methods.

How to Remove Black Hair Dye

Posted by Kenny On December - 21 - 2010

Removing black hair dye from someone’s scalp can be a somewhat challenging task.  When I set about to remove the black hair dye from my teenage daughter’s hair, I quickly discovered that it was not going to be as easy as I expected.

When you first apply black dye to the hair, the pigment in the dye soaks deep into the hair strands.  For this reason, when you attempt to strip the hair dy from the individual hairs, it is not simply a matter of stripping the dye from the surface – the black hair dye has essentially bonded with the essence of the hair.

Many people who do not know what they are doing when they attempt to remove dark dye from their hair can end up damaging their hair.  To avoid this, proper hair dyeing techniques should be followed.

One method that is commonly used is the use of the hydrogen peroxide-based hair product designed to strip color.  For those who do not like to utilize this technique, another option is to utilize a gentle hair bleach.

While both of these methods work – and are preferable to some of the amateur and high risk techniques of some do it yourself hair care mavericks attempt – it is strongly advised that you have them performed by a professional hair care stylist at a salon.

Hair care professionals have both the training and experience to ensure the removal of black hair dyes is done competently; and also that the results are attractive. They should also be able to perform the processes in a manner that minimizes hair damage.

In my case, I ended up taking my daughter to our favorite stylist to have her strip the black hair dye rather than attempting it myself.  Whilst this cost a little more, protecting her hair was worth every penny.

Wearing Real And Synthetic Wigs

Posted by Kenny On December - 21 - 2010

In the past good wigs were not easy to come by, often if you were not living in a big city you would have to travel long distances just to get one. After you traveled who knows how far, and found a wig that you liked, it would then have to be fitted to your head. Today you can find a good synthetic or real hair wigs, and even hair extension - which are growing quite popular, just about anywhere.

Human Hair Wigs:

When a person is looking to add length to their hair, they use hair extensions. There are several popular methods of placing hair extensions; gluing and sewing tracks to peoples hair, or a much more expensive option is hair fusion. Human hair extensions and wigs are generally more costly than synthetic hair pieces. For good reason, human hair can be treated just as you would your own hair. You can straighten, curl, comb, and brush it. Human hair wigs also tend to last much longer than synthetic wigs when taken care of properly.

Synthetic Hair:

This style of wig looks great, it appears silkier and shinier than any real hair could. The down fall is that it does not last as long and cannot be manipulated in the same way. Synthetic hair sometimes only keeps its beauty for a few weeks and then begins to dull; this is why it is much cheaper than real hair wigs. Although because of the great temporary look to it, it is a great choice for a special occasion.

There are multiple products on the market to help people care for their synthetic and real hair wigs, and hair extensions. Great wigs are available at most any beauty stores, these store will also have the products that you need to care for the wigs and extensions.

Posted by saurabh.sahni280691 On December - 20 - 2010

If the scalp is not kept clean it can also results in pores blockage. With collected dirt, the pores get blocked which hinders the growth of new and strong hair. Hair tends to fall easily if the hair roots are weak. When the hair roots are weak, only a single stroke of hair brush will make number of strands of hair fall.

In many families the cause of hair fall remains hereditary. Long, strong, voluminous healthy hair is just not in their genes. Many women who have recently become mothers also face this problem. This is also known as post pregnancy effect. If after child birth, proper diet is not taken then loosing hair becomes a compulsion. But one should also maintain a proper balance in their diet. Some people have lost their hair not because of the lack of any nutrition but because of excessive intake of vitamins. To have strong hair, one should try not stressing out. Anxiety, anger, sadness becomes some of those emotions which affects your health in a negative manner. Sudden shocks should also be avoided. Scalp can also be attacked by bacteria and it can also damage your hair to a great extent. Lack of estrogen level and some hormonal and genetic disorders are some of the internal causes of baldness.

Hair is a very valuable asset. They add on to ones beauty and confidence level. By keeping the above major factors causing baldness, one can protect their hair and give them a long life by taking proper care.
